A new machine!!

I was given another mini machine - with its box and instructions!! I am stoked!

The box is a bit beat up, but isn't she a beauty? Inside, the machine itself is a variation of the Panoramic shown on the cover. It's a plain white version with the same model number as the Panoramic I already have that looks EXACTLY like the cover! What are the odds??

Also in the box is the instruction book and a fold out brochure. It's AWESOME! So very 50's/60's! Its hard to date these because there is no dates on the book, box or machines. Will need to Google to find some more info....

Inside the instruction book is all the how to's, plus some simple items to make.

It also includes all the details for loading the bobbin, using the winder and threading the needle. All the info I never knew about! This is quite the important document.

The foldout brochure is in French, but appears to be promoting a doll - or maybe the clothes? I don't speak French... Again Google could be my friend on this one. ;)

The biggest differences I notice between my gold Panoramic and the white one is the presser foot. The gold one is all metal, but the other is plastic. I also compared it to my orange edition, and it, too, has the plastic foot. Interesting, yes?? Apart from that, they are identical. (Gold in the middle, orange to the left and white on the right)

Final point of note, the spool holder on the orange looks like an attachment. It simply has a screw that goes in where the single spool holder sits.

So, each one is slightly different. The gold one is most complete, since it has it's winding handle, but each has its own personality. I can't part with any of them! :)

Mini machines...

Another minor collection that I have is miniature sewing machines. I started with tiny ornaments, but gradually got bigger! Price is a major factor in any that I buy - many came to me free if charge, although I have no idea if they actually work or not! But that doesn't make any difference to me ;)

My most recent purchase - a Sanrose Toy Company machine. It is solid, heavy, green and GORGEOUS!! Google can't shed any light on it, but hopefully I can find out something about it. All I know is they also came in black. (Pics found, but no info online) It's missing the thread holder and the cover on the side compartment, but that is going to be replaced by a carpenter friend. The base is a little warped so the lid doesn't fit too well, but who cares?? Not me!!

I have some Singers, too. This one is model 67B, made in France.

And this one is a Golden Panoramic Model 67813, also made in France.

Another Singer.... This time, made in Yugoslavia!

This unusual one has no dates or markings, but is Made in China. The cover folds down into a cute container at the back with the foot held in place in a special section, very clever design!

Plus a couple of cheapies, one stickered Holly Hobbie, the other appears to be a copy. No dates found on either one....

I need to document all the tiny ones, too! There are some cuties in there - and take up much less space!! ;)

More aprons...

I bought some fabric remnants for $1 and managed to make some more apron, oven mitt and potholder sets.

These ones are EXTREMELY bright!! You have been warned!!

I actually made 2 of each, but they make you go crosseyed when seen together!!

These aprons are so much fun to make! 1m of 112wide fabric will barely make 2 aprons, 2 mitts and 2 potholders (if cut sparingly, and may need extra fabric for edge of mitt, as I had to do with these).

Now, on to some more bags, and to finish some stuff for the Canning Show......

Odd request...

(I apologise in advance to anyone who may be offended by this post. It is intended as a tribute to a wonderful person and is in no way meant in disrespect to anyone who has passed on....)

Since the cruise was already booked, the passport updated and clothes ready for the trip, it seemed only fitting that she should still go, albeit in the hand luggage. And who wouldn't want their mum to be looking her best when basking in the sun or lazing by the pool?? And there is always a need for glamour at the Ball or dinner with the Captain. For this reason, we couldn't help ourselves, planning outfits for any occasion that may arise....

There are several accessories to go with these outfits, such as glasses, hats and tiara. She will definitely be the best dressed urn on the ship!!
