Even more aprons...

With the Canning Show entries closing soon, I have decided to expand my Apron entries to include a couple of unfinished (until now..) items. I started these AGES ago......!!

The first one finished is a green drill fabric, and has a bowl with fussy cut flowers in it. I also added some 3D leaves from a fake flower to give it a bit of depth. I then meander quilted over the top to hold it all down...

A closer up look at the flowers.... The bowl base becomes a pocket....

The whole apron, with my Matryoshka doll....

This is the second one I need to finish in pink drill. The shoes are fussy cut and arranged in a circular pattern. I am going to add another set of shoes in between the peaks, to round it out a bit more. Still deciding how I am going to topstitch the design - invisible or visible?? I had originally wanted to cover it in plastic and then run a spiral design from the centre, but I think I will go without the plastic and just run an invisible thread around, radiating from the centre, all the way out to the edge. Or should I use pink?? I am so torn!!

Another burst of inspiration! I have rolls of remnant canvas from chairs, and I thought I could make some tool belts for kids. I did a bit of searching online and found 2 that I liked but modified them both to make my version. The next couple will have pleated pockets so the plastic tools will hopefully fit better, and a slightly deeper pocket.

I think I'm going to make a bunch of the kids aprons and tool belts and try and sell them. They are so easy to make and with Christmas just around the corner, they would make an excellent gift for the little chef or handy kid!
