Wonky Crosses

I've wanted to make one of these for ages!

Many that I have seen are very busy, very random - mine is not so much....

I had some white/green/red fabric with cute nautical animals on it, so I matched the colours and cut out 3 squares of each, plus some strips, for a total of 12 blocks, each with a different combination of fabrics. I cut one way, added the strip, then cut the opposite way and added another strip. Once it was squared up, I worked on the layout, added a border and binding, and the rest is history, as they say!

The backing is the nautical fabric and the batting is a piece of flannelette. Finished size 60cm x 45cm.

Quick and easy! Started about lunchtime, finished about 7pm.
